Currently, 12 districts and cities in the province maintain electronic information portals, updating detailed information about the districts and tourism activities. Most businesses and individuals operating tourism services, as well as tourist areas and destinations, build their image and promote themselves through websites and social media.

In addition, the district has completed and put into use a smart interactive 3D/360 tourism map of Moc Chau district; many tourism businesses in the area have also built and developed reputable websites to introduce and promote tourism.

At the Provincial Museum, technology has been applied to the management of historical sites, digitizing heritage and artifacts being preserved and stored, and attaching QR codes to provide information about exhibitions and historical sites. Ms. Ngo Thi Hai Yen, Director of the Provincial Museum, informed: In 2023, the Provincial Museum collaborated to develop a software application for visiting the Son La Prison National Special Historical Site using virtual reality (VR) technology. This activity aims to implement the task of digital transformation and digitization of heritage, and is an important solution for preserving and promoting the value of historical sites of special significance in Son La.
Digital technology has been increasingly involved in the development of tourism. Not only is it an effective promotional tool, but digitalization also helps state management agencies better manage tourism activities. These initial results demonstrate the adaptation to the increasingly strong digital transformation taking place in Son La's tourism sector.
Digital transformation towards professional tourism.
Over the years, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has intensified the implementation of various solutions to support localities and businesses in carrying out digital transformation in tourism. Through consulting workshops, seminars, training courses, and tourism development networking, effective solutions have been suggested for managing and developing tourism services. Business activities are implemented through various forms, both direct and online, including marketing, product promotion, market research and expansion, consulting, customer care, and online transactions such as buying, selling, and payment. This replaces traditional methods such as printing brochures, leaflets, books, and maps, saving costs for businesses and meeting the needs of tourists anytime, anywhere.

Mr. Hoang Manh Duy, Deputy CEO of Moc Chau Island, shared: "The company creates distinctive images and impressive video clips on Facebook and Instagram to attract viewers. Along with that, new information is continuously updated on the website https://mocchauisland.com/. These channels help the business create interaction, provide online support with customers, understand their needs, and gather feedback to continuously improve and enhance the quality of the resort's services."
In addition to supporting businesses in many aspects, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also built a voting portal for tourism products and brands in Son La province at the address: https://binhchondulich.sonla.gov.vn/ to allow residents and tourists to participate in evaluating and voting on service quality, service prices, service attitude, environmental hygiene, etc., according to the rating scale: Good - Fair - Average. A database software has been developed to support the organization of online competitions, such as logo and slogan design competitions; competitions for excellent tour guides; competitions for creating beautiful tourism videos and photos; and designing Son La tourism tours... Through these efforts, the Department affirms the brand, promotes information about tourism resources to the people, creates trust and reassurance, and ensures a safe experience for tourists visiting and experiencing the province.
