Conference on connecting investment, trade and tourism between Son La and Thanh Hoa provinces in 2024.

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Van Thi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments and agencies of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; leaders of relevant departments and agencies of the two provinces; Business Associations of the two provinces, along with over 200 enterprises and businessmen from the provinces: Son La, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.

At the conference, leaders of the two provinces informed about the potential and strengths in the fields of agriculture and tourism. By the end of 2024, Son La province will have 88,688 hectares of industrial crops; 84,780 hectares of fruit trees and hawthorn trees; 8 recognized high-tech agricultural zones; 308 safe agricultural and aquatic food supply chains and 188 OCOP products; 29 agricultural and aquatic products granted protection certificates by the Department of Intellectual Property and 2 products granted protection certificates abroad. The whole province currently has 19 industrial-scale agricultural processing factories and nearly 600 small and medium-sized agricultural processing facilities.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Business Association of Son La and Thanh Hoa provinces chaired the discussion at the conference.

With the potential and strengths of Son La province in developing tourism, agriculture, processing industry, energy industry, Son La province will focus on attracting high-tech agricultural projects, organic agriculture, clean agriculture; agricultural and forestry processing projects in its strengths; at the same time, encourage attracting socialized investment projects in the fields of health, education, environment, commercial infrastructure...

For Thanh Hoa province, it is one of the few localities in the country. Converging all three ecological regions: mountainous, plain and coastal, favorable for multi-sector and multi-field economic development, along with an important strategic geographical location, with a long-standing revolutionary, cultural and historical tradition, with 1,535 relics and scenic spots of national and international value; has 102 km of coastline, 213.6 km of border with Laos; infrastructure is invested synchronously, transportation is convenient, and there are many types of transportation.

Over the years, Thanh Hoa province focuses on prioritizing resources to coordinate with localities to organize many events and activities to promote investment, trade and tourism, notably the Conference on connecting industrial and handicraft products of Thanh Hoa province with the Northern provinces in 2024; conferences on linking tourism development of Thanh Hoa province with the Southeast provinces and the Northwest provinces held in Son La province in 2023... Along with many activities connecting businesses in the fields of investment, trade and tourism of the three regions, attracting the attention, response and active participation of the business community inside and outside the province.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi emphasized: The 2024 Investment, Trade and Tourism Connection Conference between Son La and Thanh Hoa provinces is an event of extensive cooperation in all three fields of investment, trade and tourism; an effective bridge for the two provinces to promote propaganda, introduction and promotion of the potentials and strengths of each locality. At the same time, it creates opportunities for investors and businesses of the two provinces to meet, learn, connect and cooperate to promote investment, trade and tourism. From there, establish distribution channels, expand the market for goods consumption; build complete and attractive tourism products and services and enhance the exchange of tourist markets, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of each locality.

At the conference, representatives of the Business Associations of the two provinces and enterprises and cooperatives shared and introduced the potential advantages of the two provinces and opportunities for cooperation, association, and investment promotion in the fields of trade and tourism.
