(sonlatv.vn) - On the morning of December 26, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired an inter-sectoral consultation meeting to resolve difficulties and problems and agree on the content of the announcement of the list of secondary border gates allowed to buy, sell and exchange goods in Son La province.
Na Cai sub-border gate is a border gate in Na Cai village, Chieng On commune, Yen Chau district, connecting with Sop Dung border gate, Sop Dung village, Xieng Kho district, Hua Phan province, Lao PDR; currently, the Provincial Border Guard Command has invested in building a 2-storey office building and auxiliary works.
Nam Lanh sub-border gate is a sub-border gate in Nam Lanh commune, Sop Cop district, connecting with Muong Po border gate, Muong Son district, Hua Phan province, Lao PDR; currently a temporary house, expected to be built in 2025.
At the two sub-border gates of Na Cai and Nam Lanh, the main demand for import and export of goods is the purchase and sale, exchange of agricultural products, agricultural supplies, medicinal herbs, construction materials, etc. of people on both sides of the border, with a volume of over 14,000 tons/year. Currently, both of these sub-border gates have only been assigned border guards to perform their duties and officers to perform plant quarantine and foreign affairs. Because the list of sub-border gates permitted for purchase and sale and exchange of goods has not been announced, the Customs agency has not yet arranged forces to perform the tasks; the competent authorities have not yet arranged forces for animal and plant quarantine and medical quarantine. To solve difficulties and obstacles in import and export of goods and promote border trade activities, the Department of Industry and Trade has proposed to announce the two sub-border gates of Na Cai and Nam Lanh to be permitted for purchase and sale and exchange of goods.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue a document asking for opinions from ministries and branches on the implementation of the announcement of the two sub-border gates of Na Cai and Nam Lanh as qualified to conduct trading and exchange of goods. Relevant departments and branches should speed up the progress of advising on the issuance of a Decision approving the scope of the sub-border gate area of Na Cai, Yen Chau district; research, develop plans, advise the Provincial People's Committee to discuss with the Central Ministries and branches to ensure the conditions of facilities, arrange forces to perform tasks, and authorize the implementation of foreign quarantine work. Allow road motor vehicles of Son La and Hua Phan provinces to transport people and goods through the sub-border gates in the province according to regulations.
