On November 3, 2023, the Moc Chau District Agricultural Technical Center in Son La Province, in coordination with the Long Sap Border Gate Border Guard Station, organized the handover of breeding goats to households in Sop Bau District, Hua Phan Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.
In order to strengthen friendship and create economic development connections between Moc Chau district, Son La province, and Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Moc Chau district has built a goat farming model for farmers in Sop Bau district.
Moc Chau district has provided 26 goats and nearly 500 kg of mixed goat feed, worth a total of 150 million VND, to 8 households participating in the model in Na Kham Hang and Pon Sai villages, Sop Bau district. The goats were carefully selected by the supplier and fully vaccinated before delivery. To ensure the model's effectiveness, Moc Chau district also sent officials to train and guide the participating households on breeding techniques, care, and disease prevention for the goat herd. Prior to this, the Moc Chau District Agricultural Technical Center, in coordination with the Long Sap Border Guard Post, surveyed each household to ensure they met the necessary conditions for raising and developing the goat herd.
The model implemented is not only helping households in Sop Bau district, Laos, to develop their family economies and stabilize their lives. This is also a practical step towards implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Moc Chau and Van Ho districts, Son La province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, signed on March 5, 2021. This contributes to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Moc Chau and Sop Bau districts, Son La and Hua Phan provinces, and between the two countries, Vietnam and Laos, ensuring a "evergreen and enduring" relationship.
