(baosonla.vn) - On January 15th, Song Ma district held a ceremony to announce the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the rearrangement of commune-level administrative units in Song Ma district.
Attending the announcement ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, Song Ma district, and a large number of local people.

On November 14, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly passed Resolution No. 1280/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the rearrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Son La province for the period 2023-2025. For Song Ma district, the adjustment involved 10.73 km.2and the population of 5,193 people from Na Nghiu commune were merged into Song Ma town. After the adjustment, Song Ma town has a natural area of 15.04 km².2With a population of 12,516 people, Song Ma town will border the communes of Chieng Khoong, Huoi Mot, and Na Nghiu. As for Na Nghiu commune, after the adjustment, its natural area will be 90.95 km².2With a population of 13,345 people, Na Nghiu commune borders the communes of Chieng Khoong, Chieng So, Huoi Mot, Nam Ty, Nam Man, Song Ma town, and Mai Son district. After the reorganization, Song Ma district has 19 administrative units at the commune level, including 18 communes and 1 town.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Na Nghiu commune and the expansion of Song Ma town is an important prerequisite for socio-economic development and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people. He requested that the Party Committee, government, and people of Song Ma district continue to unite, work together, and make concerted efforts to disseminate and promote Resolution 1280 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. He urged them to promptly reorganize the organizational structure of agencies and units in the district to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, in accordance with the directives of the Central Committee of the Party, the Politburo, and the General Secretary as outlined at the National Conference summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Central Committee of the Party.

At the same time, departments and agencies should proactively monitor the situation and regularly support and guide the resolution of difficulties and obstacles in consolidating and reorganizing the organizational structure of Song Ma district in particular and other districts and cities in the province in general.
