The Quỳnh Nhai district development plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050, aims to align with the Sơn La provincial planning orientation and the inter-district development plan along the Đà River reservoir in the province; striving to become a new rural district by 2025; by 2030, leveraging its major strengths, especially tourism, associated with a new tourism brand representing the Northwest region and Sơn La province - the Sơn La hydroelectric reservoir; building a prosperous Quỳnh Nhai urban area, becoming a tourism center of the region. Developing efficient, modern, and exemplary fisheries throughout the province. During the period 2031-2050, the Quỳnh Nhai reservoir area - Quỳnh Nhai district will become a national tourism area and a major tourism center of the Northwest region as well as the province. The district's strengths in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries will be comprehensively developed, linked with processing and export. It serves as the basis for urban and rural planning, investment projects for construction, and the development of technical and social infrastructure systems within the district.
