After four years, Moc Chau town has met 5 out of 5 criteria and 61 out of 63 standards, achieving an urban score of 86.6 points (exceeding the minimum by 11.6 points). This provides a solid foundation for the Ministry of Construction to issue decisions recognizing Moc Chau town, Son La province, as a type IV urban area; and recognizing the area slated for the establishment of a ward within Moc Chau town as meeting the standards for infrastructure development.urbanThis applies to wards located in urban areas of type IV.

Moc Chau town was established based on the entire natural area of ​​1,072.09 km².², with a population of 148,259 people.

After its establishment, Moc Chau town had 15 subordinate administrative units, including 8 wards: Moc Ly, Moc Son, Binh Minh, Thao Nguyen, Co Do, Van Son, Dong Sang, Muong Sang and 7 communes: Chieng Chung, Tan Yen, Doan Ket, Chieng Hac, Long Sap, Chieng Khua, Chieng Son.

The comrade emphasized that Son La province in general and Moc Chau town in particular will continue to make breakthroughs and develop dynamically, along with the whole country, determined to achieve the economic growth target of 8% in 2025 and strive for double-digit growth in the 2026-2030 period.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, delivered a speech at the ceremony announcing the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the establishment of Moc Chau town.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested that the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Moc Chau town, as well as Son La province, continue to strive to effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that Moc Chau district should continue to be a model of dynamic and comprehensive development in the Northwest region, becoming a growth pole and an important nucleus in regional economic development in accordance with the direction set out in Resolution 11 of the Politburo.
