The national high school exam for excellent students in the 2024-2025 school year will be held from December 25-26, 2024. Son La province has 89 candidates participating in the exam, from the following schools: Son La Specialized High School, Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities; Nguyen Du Secondary and High School; Binh Minh Primary, Secondary and High School; Moc Ly High School, Gia Phu High School, Chieng Son Secondary and High School, Mai Son High School, Phu Yen High School.

Candidates took part in 9 subjects, including: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, Informatics and English. As a result, our province had 34 candidates winning prizes. Of which, there were 3 second prizes in the subjects: Biology, Literature, Geography; 9 third prizes in the subjects: Biology, Literature, History, Geography; 22 consolation prizes in the subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English. Of the 34 prize-winning candidates, Son La Specialized High School had 31 students.

This year's exam results in Son La province increased by 14 prizes compared to 2023 and is the first time Son La province has achieved over 30 prizes, more than double that of 2021.
