Thanh Hóa là vùng đất có nguồn tài nguyên du lịch nhân văn phong phú, đặc sắc, có giá trị quốc gia và quốc tế với 1.535 di tích, danh thắng, trong đó có 1 Di sản văn hóa Thế giới và 5 di tích được xếp hạng cấp quốc gia đặc biệt. Cùng với đó là tài nguyên du lịch tự nhiên nổi trội với 102 km đường bờ biển và trên 300 lễ hội văn hóa đặc sắc, ẩm thực địa phương phong phú, hấp dẫn… Với những lợi thế đó, trong những năm qua, du lịch Thanh Hóa luôn đứng trong top đầu của cả nước về thu hút khách du lịch. Từ đầu năm đến nay, tổng lượt khách đến Thanh Hoá đạt gần 12 triệu lượt, doanh thu du lịch đạt trên 23.223 tỷ đồng.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that based on the existing potential and advantages in transportation infrastructure and the differences in tourism products between localities, Thanh Hoa province has always identified the Northwest provinces as a very potential and key tourism market. Therefore, every year, the Thanh Hoa tourism industry regularly participates in tourism promotion and advertising the image of Thanh Hoa's culture and people through participation in events and festivals organized in the Northwest provinces. This conference is an opportunity for investors and tourism businesses from Thanh Hoa province and the Northwest provinces to meet, connect, and cooperate in building complete, high-quality tours, routes, products, and services at reasonable prices. This will contribute to attracting tourists from the Northwest to Thanh Hoa and encouraging Thanh Hoa residents to travel to the Northwest.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Trang Thi Xuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the natural, cultural, and tourism potential of Thanh Hoa. Currently, Son La province is striving to implement solutions to realize the goal of making Son La a safe and attractive tourist destination in the Northwest region. Son La hopes that this conference will be an opportunity for provinces to cooperate in forming inter-local and inter-regional tourism tours and routes, building attractive tourism products, and contributing to the overall development of the tourism industry.

At the conference, delegates discussed solutions for linking tourism development between Thanh Hoa province and the Northwest provinces, tourism promotion and marketing, mechanisms to encourage cooperation between businesses; and introduced unique and attractive tourist destinations…

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, suggested that localities should clearly identify their unique tourism products to develop new, unique, and attractive tourism products; research mechanisms for close cooperation between Thanh Hoa and the Northwest region to create momentum for tourist exchange and lead the development of regional tourism. In addition, businesses and the media should work together in building and developing tourism products.

Businesses sign cooperation agreements for tourism.

Within the framework of the conference, the Thanh Hoa Tourism Association and the Tourism Associations of Son La, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, and Yen Bai provinces signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism development.

At the conference, the organizing committee set up an exhibition space to introduce tourist destinations, products, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products from Thanh Hoa, Son La, and Dien Bien provinces to the delegates.
