95 years ago, on February 3, 1930, the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam was a great turning point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution, ending the crisis in the path to national salvation, and was the basis leading to resounding victories and glorious miracles in the history of the Vietnamese nation.

Immediately after its establishment, the Party led the Nghe Tinh Soviet revolutionary movement; successfully carried out the August Revolution in 1945, establishing the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia; led the resistance war against French colonialism with the historic Dien Bien Phu victory "resounding throughout the five continents, shaking the world"; led the resistance war against the US, saving the country, liberating the South, and unifying the country. After nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process initiated and led by the Party, our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today.

Over the past 95 years, our Party has always maintained a steadfast spirit, been modest, receptive, seriously self-criticized, corrected shortcomings, and has been trusted and supported by the people. Our Party has always thoroughly grasped Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought on Party building and rectification, which is a key, regular, continuous task throughout the revolutionary periods, determining the strength and prestige of the Party. In the process of implementing the Party's guidelines, the organization and apparatus in the political system have been constantly improved, innovated, arranged, consolidated, streamlined, and enhanced in terms of effectiveness and efficiency of operations.

Under the light of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in December 1939, the Communist Party Cell at Son La Prison was established. Over 85 years of construction and development, the Provincial Party Committee has continuously improved its leadership capacity, along with promoting the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, innovation, and determination of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level. Son La province has achieved many important and comprehensive results in the fields of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, building the Party and an increasingly strong political system.

In 2024, the total product in the province (GRDP at 2010 comparative prices) is estimated to reach 36,274,729 billion VND, an increase of 6.3% over the previous year. State budget revenue in the area reached 4,134 billion VND, exceeding the estimate assigned by the Central Government. Average GRDP per capita is 57.6 million VND/person/year, an increase of 5.9 million VND/person/year compared to 2023.

Agricultural production has developed towards high-tech application, clean agriculture and organic agriculture. The whole province has recognized 8 high-tech agricultural zones; 308 safe agricultural and aquatic food supply chains; 188 OCOP products; 29 agricultural and aquatic products have been granted protection certificates by the Department of Intellectual Property, 2 products have been granted protection certificates abroad. Industrial production increased by 28.3%. The value of exported goods reached 198 million USD, up 6.1% over the same period last year. Tourism has changed positively, the total number of visitors to Son La reached 4.9 million, up 7.5%; revenue reached 5,800 billion VND, up 22.1% over the previous year. Moc Chau tourist area was recognized as a National Tourist Area by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; for the third consecutive year it has been honored as the leading regional natural destination in Asia.

The business investment environment continues to improve, the province has newly granted investment policies for 14 projects, with a total registered capital of VND 1,737.08 billion. Son La province was assigned by the Prime Minister to be the governing body to implement the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project, the section in Son La province; the project investment policy has been approved; 201/204 communes have paved roads to the center. Moc Chau district was recognized as Moc Chau town. To date, the whole province has 74 communes meeting new rural standards, an increase of 9 communes compared to 2023, equal to 105.7% of the plan; 11 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, an increase of 3 communes compared to 2023, equal to 110% of the plan. Social security policies are fully and promptly implemented. The poverty rate is 10.89%, down 3.28 percentage points compared to 2023 (exceeding the set plan).

The fields of culture, education and training, and public health care are of interest, and social security is ensured. Son La City is listed in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. Local military and defense work is carried out effectively. Political security, social order and safety are stable, national sovereignty and border security are maintained. Foreign affairs are expanded, maintaining friendly cooperative relations with neighboring provinces of Laos.

Party building and political system consolidation work has been strengthened. The province has implemented the model of "Four-good Party Cells" and "Four-good Grassroots Party Committees". Up to now, 70/328 Party Committees; 79/507 Party cells; 612/4,102 Party cells directly under the grassroots Party Committees have registered for the model. Party cells have 2,083/2,248 Party Committees, reaching 92.66%.

Honored to be awarded the 65-year Party membership badge in the 3/2 period, Party member Dinh Van Duon, Sap Viet village Party cell, Ta Khoa commune Party Committee, Bac Yen district, proudly said: I was admitted to the Party in 1960 at Ta Khoa commune Party Committee. This year, at 90 years old, 65 years old in the Party, I have lived in the atmosphere of the glorious historical moment of the Vietnamese revolution's victory under the Party's talented leadership. Now that I am old, I still strive to contribute to the Party's cause, educate my children and grandchildren, and mobilize the people to believe in the Party and beloved Uncle Ho.

2025 is a year of special importance, the final year to implement and strive to complete the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025, the year to organize Party congresses at all levels, term 2025-2030, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: The Provincial Party Committee focuses on leading and directing the implementation of the socio-economic development plan, ensuring national defense and security in 2025 and striving to complete the goals and targets of the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress. Well implement the preparation and organization of Party Congresses at all levels towards the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030. Strive to start the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway project in Son La province in May 2025 and complete it in July 2028. Focus on leading the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels in the period 2023-2030; arrange and streamline the apparatus of the political system according to the direction and orientation of the Central Government, striving to complete it on schedule...

Promoting the role of the Party's reliable reserve force, the Youth Union at all levels in the province constantly trains and introduces outstanding members to the Party. Comrade Cam Thi Huyen Trang, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, shared: Son La's youth is proud to advance under the Party's flag. The Youth Union at all levels in the province always focuses on educating morality and revolutionary ideals for young union members; organizing political activities "Vietnamese youth is proud to advance under the Party's flag"; forums "Party with youth, youth with the Party"; organizing contests to learn about the Party's history, Party Congress Resolutions at all levels... to help young union members deeply understand the Party, have the will to strive to advance in work, study and work, identify the right motivations, and strive to stand in the Party's ranks.

Proudly and confidently, under the glorious flag of the Party, the Party Committee, government, army and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, the will of self-reliance, the strength of ethnic solidarity, improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members, determined to build Son La province to develop greenly, quickly and sustainably, together with the whole country, join hands and unite to successfully implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, contributing to the whole country entering a new era, the era of national growth.
