This is a significant event, a traditional activity of the rural areas along the Da River every Lunar New Year, attracting the attention and participation of many locals and tourists.
According to the organizers, this year's Cultural Week will feature many exciting and attractive activities, including: a ceremony of offering incense at Linh Son - Thuy Tu Temple and Nang Han Temple (Quynh Nhai District's spiritual and cultural tourism area), to thank the river and mountain gods, express gratitude to the female general Nang Han, and pray for good fortune and peace in the new year.

This year's traditional boat racing festival will attract racing teams from 11 communes in the district, as well as from other districts within and outside the province.
The highlight of the event is the Opening Ceremony of the Cultural Week, held on the evening of February 7th, featuring a spectacular artistic program themed "Quynh Nhai - Shining Brightly in the Land of Heritage".
Alongside this is a series of activities: the 2025 Quynh Nhai District Traditional Boat Racing Festival, with the participation of racing teams from 11 communes in the district, and from districts inside and outside the province that share a boat racing culture, such as Muong Lay town (Dien Bien), Nam Nhun and Than Uyen districts (Lai Chau). This contributes to the preservation of traditional ethnic festivals, especially the boat racing festival of the people in the riverine region.

The Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week is an annual event maintained by Quynh Nhai district, aiming to introduce and promote the potential and strengths of lake tourism, the unique culture of ethnic groups in the riverine region; to honor traditional cultural values, and to contribute to raising awareness among ethnic communities about their responsibility to preserve and promote traditional culture.
This also contributes to promoting trade activities, introducing and connecting the consumption of local agricultural and aquatic products, and OCOP products, thereby boosting tourism development in the district.
It is known that in 2024, Quynh Nhai made efforts to boost investment in tourism infrastructure development, effectively exploiting the tourism potential of the Son La hydroelectric reservoir area; and successfully implemented activities to promote the Quynh Nhai tourism brand to friends and tourists both domestically and internationally.
As a result, in the past year, the total number of tourists visiting Quynh Nhai is estimated at 250,000, an increase of 25%; revenue is estimated at 100 billion VND, an increase of 43% compared to the same period. The Son La hydroelectric reservoir tourist area (including Quynh Nhai) has been approved by the Prime Minister to be included in the list of locations with potential to develop into a national tourist area.
