Responding to the activities to welcome the New Year and celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), on the morning of February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), at Tay Bac Square, Son La city organized the "Spring Festival to Uncle Ho" to celebrate the Party and the Spring of At Ty year 2025.

Attending the event were comrades: Ha Trung Chien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; Hoang Ngan Hoan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and city leaders. The program mobilized over 1,000 artisans, athletes, and mass actors from communes and wards of the City to participate, along with a large number of people and tourists to watch and cheer.

Before the opening ceremony, the City's leaders offered incense and flowers at the Uncle Ho Monument with the ethnic minorities of the Northwest and the Uncle Ho Temple at the Northwest Square; reported to President Ho Chi Minh the outstanding results in economic, social, defense and security development of the City in the past year, with the impressive achievement of Son La City being recognized by UNESCO as a "Global Learning City" network. The City Party Committee has successfully completed its tasks in 2024 and has successfully completed its tasks for 5 consecutive years. Before the spirit of the great President Ho Chi Minh, cadres, party members and people of all ethnic minorities in Son La City vow to study and follow his ideology, morality and style for the rest of their lives, striving to build a clean and strong City Party Committee in all aspects, contributing to building Son La province to develop greenly, quickly and sustainably.

The opening of the “Spring Festival for Uncle Ho” was a special art program with singing and dancing performances praising the country’s innovation and celebrating the glorious Party performed by singers, mass actors and staff of the Son La City Center for Communication and Culture.

In the beautiful sunny weather, the folk dance competition received cheers from many people and tourists. There were 12 teams participating in the competition. from communes and wards in the City. Each team brings to the Spring Festival a unique performance, carefully and meticulously staged on impressive music, with the theme of praising the homeland, the country, and honoring traditional culture.

Each performance has at least 60 actors participating, creating a lively and exciting collective performance, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the spring festival, and attracting a large audience to watch and cheer.

"Spring Festival for Uncle Ho" also includes sports activities and folk games such as: To mak le, throwing con, and walking on stilts.

"Spring Festival for Uncle Ho" is an annual activity organized by the City. Over many years of organization, the Spring Festival has become an ideal meeting place at the beginning of each new year with many exciting activities, honoring traditional cultural values, arousing national pride and awareness and responsibility of the community in preserving and promoting national cultural identity. The Spring Festival has also become a special spiritual food for ethnic people every time Tet comes, Spring comes, a meaningful reunion at the beginning of the year, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people of Son La city to respond to patriotic emulation movements, actively work in production, unite and be determined to successfully achieve the socio-economic development goals in 2025.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 8 third prizes and 6 consolation prizes to the winning teams in each category. In particular, the first prize in the juggling competition belonged to Chieng Sinh ward, the first prize in the to mak le competition belonged to Hua La commune, the first prize in the stilt competition for men and women belonged to Chieng Den commune and the first prize in the folk dance competition belonged to Chieng An ward.
