(sonla.gov.vn) On November 25, 2023, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong presided over the ceremony to announce, award certificates, and honor outstanding rural industrial products of Son La province in 2023. Attending the ceremony were leaders from several provincial departments and agencies; the People's Committees of districts and cities; and representatives of businesses, cooperatives, and households with outstanding agricultural products.

After more than 3 months of implementation, the Organizing Committee received 66 product dossiers from 42 units in 11 districts and cities. These included: 3 products in the handicraft and fine arts group; 61 products in the processed agricultural, forestry, aquatic and food products group; and 2 products in the other product group. The provincial selection council selected 30 outstanding products at the provincial level, and 10 products were submitted to participate in the selection of outstanding products in the Northern region in 2024. The products participating in the selection demonstrated the characteristics of rural industrial products in the province; many products combined traditional crafts with advanced technology and equipment, utilized readily available local raw materials, paid attention to packaging and labeling, and some products showcased local cultural identity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the purpose of organizing the selection of outstanding rural industrial products is to identify and honor products with high quality, high utility value, potential for production development, market expansion, and to meet the tastes of domestic and international consumers. This will allow for the development of plans to support production development and trade promotion, contributing to the development of rural industries. Simultaneously, it will select outstanding rural industrial products from the province to participate in regional and national selections.
Representatives from businesses, cooperatives, and household businesses with outstanding agricultural products attended the ceremony.
The comrade highly appreciated and acknowledged the results achieved in organizing the selection process, commending organizations and individuals who, with their dedication, have created reputable products and brands trusted by consumers, making practical contributions to the successful implementation of the Party and State's policies on rural industrial development. At the same time, he requested that in the coming time, all levels and sectors continue to coordinate and organize supply-demand connections effectively to strongly promote the consumption of typical rural industrial products of the province. Districts and cities should continue to promote the development of rural industrial establishments with local strengths. Rural industrial establishments that received the Son La province's 2023 product selection award, and industrial establishments in the province in general, should continue to maintain, develop, and expand their products in both quantity and quality; create more jobs, increase income for workers, and bring benefits to businesses.
