(sonla.gov.vn) On February 12, 2025, the People's Committee of Son La province, in coordination with Vietnam Airlines, held a ceremony to launch the shipment of Son La strawberries on Vietnam Airlines flights. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies; the People's Committee of Mai Son district; and representatives from Vietnam Airlines.

Son La province has favorable climate and soil conditions, with a total strawberry cultivation area of over 700 hectares in 2024-2025; the expected yield is 9,300 tons, mainly in Mai Son, Moc Chau, and Yen Chau districts. Of this, Mai Son district accounts for over 550 hectares of strawberry cultivation, with a harvest yield of 7,500 tons. Strawberries are grown in greenhouses, hydroponic systems, and covered with nylon on the planting beds, with water and fertilizer supplied through drip irrigation and sprinkler systems. Son La strawberries are currently being registered for protection, and a certification trademark management system is being developed and implemented. The Son La Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Mai Son district, surveyed and evaluated the quality and selected Xuan Que Strawberry Cooperative and ICHI FAM Strawberry Cooperative in Co Noi commune, Mai Son district, to be introduced, promoted, and supplied on Vietnam Airlines flights.

The launch ceremony for bringing Son La strawberries on Vietnam Airlines flights is a significant and practical event in strengthening cooperation between Son La province and Vietnam Airlines Corporation, promoting communication, advertising, and marketing to bring Son La's agricultural products to a wider audience through various distribution channels, enhancing the brand and value of strawberries.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the departure ceremony.
At the departure ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that in the coming time, the Son La Provincial People's Committee will continue to assign the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion to coordinate with Vietnam Airlines to provide information and images about destinations, tourism events, diplomatic and cultural activities, and annual investment and trade promotion activities of the province to support promotion in Vietnam Airlines publications, thereby introducing characteristic tourism products, festivals, OCOP products, and safe agricultural products of Son La province. At the same time, the inclusion of Son La strawberries as part of the meal served on each flight is an opportunity to further affirm the quality and brand of the province's agricultural products and also a chance to promote Son La agricultural products in particular and Vietnamese agricultural products in general to the world, contributing to enhancing the brand and value of the local characteristic agricultural products.
