The event was attended by 200 delegates, including leaders, lecturers, and students from Tay Bac University, as well as representatives from businesses, cooperatives, and individual business owners in the province.

The Digital Transformation Day for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) is part of the Project to Strengthen the Inclusive Digital Transformation Ecosystem for SMEs in Lao Cai and Son La Provinces (IDAP), aiming to promote digital transformation for SMEs in Lao Cai and Son La from 2024 to 2027, focusing on agriculture and tourism. The project prioritizes micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises owned by ethnic minority women, including: SMEs, cooperatives, homestays, household businesses, and startup projects. The IDAP project launched in September 2024 with over 40 participating businesses and more than 1,000 student volunteers, generating over 2.9 billion VND in revenue for businesses in Lao Cai and Son La provinces.

Businesses share their experiences in business development through the application of digital transformation.
Northwest University has implemented numerous digital transformation activities in its training and management. Simultaneously, it has participated in advising and supporting many localities within and outside the province in carrying out digital transformation tasks. Through participation in the IDAP project, faculty, staff, and students of Northwest University have attended training courses on digital transformation provided by KisStartup; and have supported several cooperatives and homestay businesses in building Facebook pages to post and introduce local tourism resources and cultural heritage.
At the event, delegates heard presentations from representatives about the potential for developing digital businesses for local workforces; shared experiences in business development through the application of digital transformation; and received guidance on using artificial intelligence in customer outreach strategies on digital platforms. Through these activities, the event contributed to connecting resources from businesses, lecturers, and students to promote digital transformation in the locality.
