(sonlatv.vn) - On February 19th, a delegation from the European Union Embassy in Vietnam, led by Mr. Julien Guerrier, visited and worked at the Phuc village nickel mine in Muong Khoa commune, Bac Yen district. Accompanying the delegation from Son La province were Mr. Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders from several provincial and Bac Yen district departments and agencies.
Blackstone Minerals, an Australian mineral exploration and mining company, is undertaking two major projects in Son La province: the Ban Phuc Nickel Mine (expansion) in Muong Khoa commune, Bac Yen district, and a nickel concentrate processing plant in Phu Yen district. These projects utilize modern Australian mining and mineral processing technologies and apply high-quality management processes with high safety and environmental protection standards.
Through this visit and working session, the Ambassador gained an understanding of the operations of foreign-invested businesses in Son La province; the potential and strengths of the locality; and thus served as a bridge for future investment cooperation in Son La province, such as developing a green economy, a circular economy, and responding to climate change.
