(baosonla.vn) - Following the Prime Minister's directive to accelerate the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, Son La province has established a Steering Committee from the provincial level down to the communes, wards, and towns, and is resolutely implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in 2025.

According to a review by districts and cities, as of January 24, 2025, there are currently 2,877 households in the entire province that need housing support in 2025 (including 216 households of war veterans, 343 households under national target programs, and 2,318 households as per Notice No. 523/TB-VPCP dated November 16, 2024 of the Government Office).
To ensure funding for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has allocated 30 billion VND from the provincial "For the Poor" fund to districts and cities to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses throughout the province. Specifically, 25 billion VND was contributed by the Military Industrial and Telecommunications Group (Viettel), and 5 billion VND was contributed by the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank - Son La Provincial Branch.
From savings in the provincial budget, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 193/QD-UBND dated January 23, 2025, on supplementing targeted funds from the provincial budget to district budgets to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 for 144 poor households, with an amount of 60 million VND/household for new construction in the districts of Mai Son, Phu Yen, Yen Chau, Thuan Chau, Van Ho, Bac Yen, Sop Cop, Muong La, and Quynh Nhai. Districts and cities are proactively developing plans to use the 5% savings in their district budgets to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in their areas.

As of February 18, 2025, Son La province had completed the support for 439 houses (353 newly built; 86 repaired) with a total support budget of 22.45 billion VND. The remaining 2,438 houses (2,144 newly built; 294 repaired) will continue to receive support with a total required budget of 137.46 billion VND. The Steering Committees of the districts and cities have focused on leading and directing the implementation of tasks immediately after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025; determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before May 19, 2025.
With a determination to achieve the set goals, Son La province is strengthening the leadership and guidance of the Party committees and government, and the coordination of the Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, and the armed forces in organizing the implementation of support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for policy beneficiary households, poor households, and near-poor households.
Continue to thoroughly and consistently disseminate the content of the housing support program and policies; the meaning and role of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy beneficiary households, poor households, and near-poor households to organizations, businesses, officials, Party members, and the people, creating consensus and support for the implementation of the Government's and Prime Minister's housing support program and policies.
Integrate and effectively utilize resources from central government programs, especially national target programs, and provincial projects and initiatives. Simultaneously, strengthen efforts to mobilize resources to support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing in the province.
