(baosonla.vn) - Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on promoting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, Son La province has established a Steering Committee from the province to communes, wards and towns, resolutely implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in 2025.

Through the review of districts and cities, as of January 24, 2025, in the whole province there are still 2,877 households in need of housing support in 2025 (of which, 216 households are meritorious people, 343 households belong to National Target Programs, 2,318 households according to Notice No. 523/TB-VPCP dated November 16, 2024 of the Government Office).
To ensure funding for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, from the provincial "For the Poor" fund, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has completed the allocation of 30 billion VND to districts and cities to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. Specifically, the funding is supported by the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) with 25 billion VND. The funding is supported by the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - Son La Branch with 5 billion VND.
From the provincial budget savings, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 193/QD-UBND dated January 23, 2025 on targeted supplementation from the provincial budget to the district budget to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 for 144 poor households, at the level of 60 million VND/newly built household in the districts: Mai Son, Phu Yen, Yen Chau, Thuan Chau, Van Ho, Bac Yen, Sop Cop, Muong La, Quynh Nhai. Districts and cities proactively develop plans to use the savings fund (5%) in the district budget to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

As of February 18, 2025, Son La province has completed supporting 439 houses (353 newly built; 86 repaired) with a total support cost of VND 22.45 billion. The remaining 2,438 houses (2,144 newly built; 294 repaired) continue to receive support with a required support cost of VND 137.46 billion. The Steering Committees of districts and cities have focused on leading and directing the implementation of tasks immediately after the Lunar New Year 2025; determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before May 19, 2025.
With the determination to complete the set goals, Son La province has strengthened the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities, the coordination of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and armed forces in organizing the implementation of support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for policy households, poor households, and near-poor households.
Continue to thoroughly grasp and widely and consistently disseminate the content of the housing support program and policies; the significance and role of the work of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy households, poor households, and near-poor households to organizations, businesses, officials, party members and people, creating consensus and support for the implementation of the housing support program and policies of the Government and the Prime Minister.
Integrate and effectively use resources from central programs, especially from national target programs, provincial projects and plans. At the same time, strengthen advocacy and mobilize resources to support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
