The "Colors of Son La - Northwest Vietnam" tourism event will take place from December 4th to 6th, 2023.
The "Colors of Son La - Northwest Vietnam" program is organized within the framework of the Northwest Culture and Tourism Week in Ho Chi Minh City, chaired by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The main contents focus on cultural and tourism activities of Ho Chi Minh City, Son La, and Dien Bien.
The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Northwest Provinces Tourism Week 2023 will be inaugurated at 8 PM on December 4th at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, District 1, HCMC. Within the framework of the tourism week, a series of activities will also take place, including: a conference promoting tourism in the Northwest and HCMC; an art program "Colors of Son La - Northwest"; an experience of the Tang Cau ritual of the Thai ethnic group in Son La; an exhibition and introduction of cultural and tourism spaces; and cultural experiences of the Thai, Mong, and Dao ethnic communities.

Attending the event were leaders from the Son La Provincial People's Committee; relevant departments, agencies, and units; the Provincial Tourism Association and the tourism associations of districts and cities; nearly 100 male and female performers from the Provincial Song and Dance Theatre, Son La College, folk artisans, and outstanding grassroots arts figures of the Mong, Dao, and Thai ethnic groups from Moc Chau district and Son La City; along with representatives from typical tourism businesses, cooperatives, and tourism service businesses…
This is a major event of significant importance aimed at promoting tourism in Son La, especially the brand of "World's Leading Regional Natural Destination" for Moc Chau National Tourist Area; continuing to implement practical activities contributing to the effective implementation of Conclusion No. 94-KL/TU dated January 23, 2021, of the Son La Provincial Party Committee on the development of tourism in Son La province until 2025, with orientation to 2030. Along with that, it aims to effectively implement the Agreement on Tourism Development Cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the 8 Northwestern provinces for the period 2020-2025; the regulations on the implementation of the cooperation agreement on tourism development between the 8 expanded Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2021-2025; and to strengthen tourism development linkages between Ho Chi Minh City and Son La province in particular, and the group of 8 expanded Northwestern provinces with Ho Chi Minh City in general.
Creating opportunities for districts, cities, tourist areas, destinations, and villages; restaurants, hotels, and tourism cooperatives in Son La province to introduce their unique tourism products, distinctive ethnic cultural identities, and attractive local products to people and tourists in Ho Chi Minh City.
Through experiential activities within the tourism program, the aim is to attract investors, travel companies, organizations, and individuals to cooperate in tourism development in Son La province, especially in Moc Chau National Tourist Area and the Son La Hydropower Reservoir area.
