The Rain-Praying Festival is known as one of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage sites, aiming to honor traditional values and preserve national cultural features. The festival is held annually on the 15th day of the 2nd lunar month.
The festival originates from an ancient legend: Once upon a time, there was a very long drought with no rain, the crops and plants died, and all the animals and insects perished.

The villagers felt it was necessary to hold a ceremony to ask for rainwater for planting trees and for the animals to have water to live, but everyone feared the celestial spirits and the water dragons would punish them with death, so no one dared to organize the ceremony.
Faced with this situation, a brave shaman stepped forward to take on the responsibility. The shaman needed someone to help him organize the ritual, and a courageous widow in the village volunteered.

The rain-praying festival also features many cultural and artistic activities that attract the participation of tourists and locals.
After taking responsibility, the widow said, "My husband passed away on February 15th, so I want to hold the Rain-Praying Festival on this day so that if Then takes my place, I can offer prayers on the same day as my husband…" Since then, the Rain-Praying Festival has been held on the 15th day of the 2nd lunar month every year.
