Opening Ceremony of the Northwest Culture and Tourism Week in Ho Chi Minh City

Attending the opening ceremony were Comrade Phan Van Mai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee; and from Son La province, Comrade Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee. Representatives from the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Tourism Associations of the provinces of Son La, Dien Bien, Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, and Phu Tho were also present.

In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc emphasized that the Northwest Culture and Tourism Week in Ho Chi Minh City is a gathering place for "cultural colors," an opportunity to connect cultural and tourism products, contributing to promoting linkages and tourism development between the Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City with the rest of the country and internationally. At the same time, it aims to leverage potential and strengths, attract investment, build unique tourism products, and create a new phase of development for tourism between the Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. It also contributes to consolidating and enhancing the linkages and cooperation between the Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, affirming achievements in cooperation in various fields, strengthening exchanges and expanding linkages, promoting investment and development between localities, demonstrating the cultural harmony and solidarity between the ethnic groups of the Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, and helping the people of the Northwest provinces understand more about the dynamic and developing city.

At the opening ceremony of the cultural week, delegates and audience members enjoyed an art program themed "Vietnam, a Wonderful Country," divided into three parts, comprising 13 performances with the participation of over 250 performers from Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of Son La, Dien Bien, and Ha Giang, creating a unique and captivating artistic space, deeply rooted in the highlands, in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Northwest Culture and Tourism Week in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from December 4-6 with a series of unique and attractive cultural activities such as: experiencing the community culture of the Thai, Mong, and Dao ethnic groups; experiencing the Tang Cau ritual of the Thai ethnic group in Son La; the art program "Colors of Son La - Northwest"; a street cultural parade with the theme "Dien Bien: A Convergence of Colors"; photo exhibitions; and activities showcasing and introducing the culture, tourism, trade, and agriculture of Son La and Dien Bien provinces...

People are interested in the beautiful traditional cultural features of the ethnic groups in Northwest Vietnam.

In addition, visitors can immerse themselves in the highland culture; experience the community culture of the Thai, Mong, and Dao ethnic groups; the Tang Cau ritual of the Thai ethnic group in Son La; and participate in exhibitions and presentations about the culture, tourism, trade, and agriculture of Dien Bien and Son La provinces…
