(sonlatv.vn) - On the morning of March 23rd, in Chieng Ngan commune, Son La city, Son La Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Ministry of Finance, Vietnam Airlines Corporation, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, and the Vietnam Cai Luong Theatre, organized the launch of the first "Volunteer Day for Building New Rural Areas" and "Green Sunday" campaign in the 2025 Youth Month.
At the event, the Provincial Youth Union, the City Youth Union, and partner organizations presented a "Children's Playground" to Chieng Ngan A Primary and Secondary School; a "Plastic Waste Prevention" model to the Chieng Ngan Commune Youth Union; and a "Lighting Up the Village" project to the people of Chieng Ngan Commune. In addition, 20 gift packages were given to disadvantaged families and children in the commune. The total value exceeded 60 million VND.
Building new rural areas is a central theme in the youth's peak activities. Over the past period, youth union branches throughout the province have mobilized social resources and encouraged union members and young people to renovate thousands of kilometers of rural roads, build hundreds of "Lighting Up Rural Roads" projects, repair bridges and village cultural houses; and plant flowers and trees along rural roads. Many models such as: Lighting Up Rural Roads, model roads, environmental protection teams, and youth-managed roads have been widely implemented, becoming vibrant movements among young people, attracting a large number of union members, young people, and the general public to participate.
