The local specialty products after being recognized have increased their value and competitiveness, expanded their consumption markets, and increased people's income.
Discussing the development of OCOP products in the district, Ms. Bac Cam Thi Xieng, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Yen district, said: The district People's Committee has directed the department to coordinate with communes and towns to review the strengths and characteristics of each locality. On that basis, evaluate products that have the potential to develop into OCOP products to support production households and cooperatives to improve product quality. At the same time, encourage organizations and individuals to apply science and technology to production, preservation and processing of OCOP products, and apply the OCOP product quality management system.

Cooperatives and entities register packaging trademarks for products, issue codes, barcodes for traceability stamps; support consulting costs for product entities in preparing assessment and classification records; support the issuance of VietGAP certificates... Up to now, the district has 24 products meeting OCOP standards from 14 cooperatives, 1 cooperative group and 3 business households in the area, including 22 products with 3-star rating and 2 products with 4-star rating.

The sweet tangerine trees of Nghia Hung Food Crop Cooperative, Muong Coi Commune, have been applying VietGAP production since 2019. Up to now, the tangerines of the Cooperative have received high appreciation for the quality of partners and customers. The Cooperative has built OCOP products associated with product branding.
Mr. Nguyen Van Su, Director of the Cooperative, said: In 2020, the Cooperative's sweet tangerines were recognized as 3-star OCOP products. Currently, the Cooperative has 10 hectares of sweet tangerines, with an output of 80 tons of fruit/season, which is not enough to supply traditional customers. We have planned to expand the area of sweet tangerines in the direction of organic production, in order to continue to improve the quality, brand and value of sweet tangerines, meeting the needs of customers in the province and outside the province.

To promote OCOP products, the district directs the Department of Agriculture and Environment; the Department of Economy and Infrastructure of the district to connect and support cooperatives to participate in trade promotion fairs organized by districts and cities in and outside the province. Promote the supply and sale of OCOP products at points of sale and product introduction in the district; bring them to points of sale and introduce OCOP products at central points of product introduction and promotion in and outside the province.
In addition, the district also guides and supports the entities to put OCOP products on e-commerce platforms, such as Lazada.vn, Shopee.vn, Sendo.vn, tiki.vn; Voso.vn, Posmart... Currently, all OCOP products of the district have been put on e-commerce platforms and electronic information portals managed by the Department of Industry and Trade, websites of the province's OCOP program and on social networking sites of enterprises and units. At the same time, encourage sellers to directly interact with small-scale products and local specialties through forms such as Livestream sales on TikTok, Shoppee live platforms...
