According to the leader of the People's Committee of Son La province, immediately after the Prime Minister launched the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" for the period 2021 - 2025, the People's Committee of Son La province directed agencies, units and localities in the province to thoroughly grasp, deploy and develop a plan to organize the emulation movement in accordance with the practical situation of the province.

In order to effectively implement the National Target Program (NTP) on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, Son La province has concretized it through resolutions, plans, and decisions to implement the Central's directives. Poverty reduction work is identified by all levels, sectors, and localities as a key task in the annual socio-economic development process. Agencies, units, localities, social organizations, and enterprises in the province develop implementation plans, propose contents and solutions to join hands to care for the poor, promote the combined strength of the entire political system, the consensus and synergy of the whole society in implementing the NTP on sustainable poverty reduction...

In the period of 2020 - 2025, Son La province has issued Programs and Projects to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. Thereby, in the period of 2020 - 2024, the whole province has eliminated 9,317 temporary and dilapidated houses with a total budget of 441,287 billion VND. In the first 3 months of 2025, the whole province has implemented support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 2,337 households; the remaining 550 houses are striving to be completed before May 19.

In addition, the province supported production development for 48 households with an amount of over 250 million VND; supported 1,431 poor people with long-term medical examination and treatment with an amount of over 474 million VND; helped 2,191 poor students with a budget of 916 million VND, supported other families in difficult circumstances with an amount of over 9 billion VND... Through the implementation of the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind", the good tradition of charity "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves" of our nation has been promoted, making activities for the poor become awareness, sentiment, and beauty in the cultural and social life, contributing significantly to the implementation of social security policies of the Party and the State.

Through the full and timely implementation of sustainable poverty reduction programs, policies and projects, there have been positive impacts on the socio-economic development of the province. The poverty rate of the province by the end of 2024 will be 10.89%, with an average decrease of over 3% per year in the 2021-2025 period, exceeding the set target.
