The emulation movement "For the poor - Leaving no one behind" in Son La province, from 2021 to 2025, has achieved many important results, positively impacting the lives of the people and the socio-economic development goals of the province.
According to the leaders of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, immediately after the Prime Minister launched the emulation movement "For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind" for the period 2021-2025, the Son La Provincial People's Committee directed agencies, units, and localities in the province to thoroughly understand, implement, and develop plans to organize the emulation movement in accordance with the province's practical situation.

To effectively implement the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the period 2021-2025, Son La province has concretized it through resolutions, plans, and decisions implementing the directives of the Central Government. Poverty reduction has been identified by all levels, sectors, and localities as a key task in the annual socio-economic development process. Agencies, units, localities, social organizations, and businesses in the province have developed plans for implementation, proposing contents and solutions to jointly care for the poor, leveraging the combined strength of the entire political system and the concerted efforts of the whole society in implementing the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction…
During the period 2020-2025, Son La province issued programs and projects to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. As a result, from 2020 to 2024, the entire province eliminated 9,317 temporary and dilapidated houses with a total support budget of 441.287 billion VND. In the first three months of 2025, the province implemented support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 2,337 households; the remaining 550 houses are expected to be completed before May 19th.
In addition, the province supported production development for 48 households with over 250 million VND; provided long-term medical treatment for 1,431 poor people with over 474 million VND; helped 2,191 poor students with 916 million VND; and supported other disadvantaged families with over 9 billion VND… Through the emulation movement “For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind,” the province has promoted the beautiful tradition of compassion and mutual support of our nation, making activities for the poor a conscious sentiment and a beautiful aspect of socio-cultural life, contributing significantly to the implementation of the Party and State's social security policies.
Through the full and timely implementation of sustainable poverty reduction programs, policies, and projects, positive impacts have been made on the socio-economic development of the province. The poverty rate in the province will be 10.89% by the end of 2024, with an average reduction of over 3% per year during the 2021-2025 period, exceeding the set target.
