Accompanying the delegation were representatives from agencies and units under the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; Major General Vu Xuan Hung, a full-time delegate of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs; and Major General Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Commander of Military Region 4.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were: Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; and representatives of the leaders of the provincial departments and agencies.

In an atmosphere of profound friendship and solidarity, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, expressed his pleasure in welcoming General Xu Von-Luang Bun Mi, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and his delegation to visit and work in the province. He emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, unwavering loyalty, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and Laos and Vietnam, have become invaluable assets cultivated by both nations over many generations. Son La province, bordering Hua Phan and Luang Prabang provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, is proud to be a bridge contributing to deepening the relationship between the two countries. In particular, over the past years, the province has signed cooperation agreements and maintains close, comprehensive relations in various fields with nine provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
The Provincial Party Secretary respectfully thanked the Party, Government, and National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and especially the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, for their continued attention and support in developing the close relationship and comprehensive cooperation between Son La province and localities of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, delivered a speech at the working session.
During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, briefed the working group on the province's socio-economic development; Son La province's cooperation with neighboring provinces in Laos; and the supervisory work of the Provincial People's Council.
Accordingly, from 2022 to the present, Son La province has signed 25 cooperation agreements between the two sides' levels and sectors; maintaining close coordination with the government and border protection forces of Hua Phan and Luang Prabang provinces to effectively organize patrol and protection activities, ensuring security and order in the border area, especially in the prevention and control of drug-related crimes and crimes against national security.
Son La province and Hua Phan province have coordinated to implement and complete the contents of the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program, organized by the Ministries of Defense of the two countries; and successfully organized the ceremony to announce the opening of the Long Sap - Pa Hang international border gate.

Leaders of the People's Council of Hua Phan province exchanged experiences in their work during the meeting.
The province has also supported the investment in the construction of 51 police stations in border villages of Hua Phan and Luang Prabang provinces; provided 300 million kip to the provinces to overcome the consequences of typhoon No. 4; and facilitated businesses in accessing information, producing and supplying plant and animal breeds, and establishing cooperative links in production and business with businesses in neighboring Lao provinces.
At the same time, the province successfully organized many cultural events; expanded the connection of Son La province's tourism routes to neighboring provinces in Laos; received and supported the training of 88 officials and civil servants from 9 provinces of Laos to attend intermediate-level political theory courses and 959 students studying at training institutions in the province...

On behalf of the delegation, Lieutenant General Xu Von-Luang Bun Mi thanked the leaders of Son La province for their warm welcome and congratulated the province on its achievements in various fields. He also highly appreciated Son La province's assistance to the provinces of Laos in the past.
The comrade expressed his wish that Son La province would continue to pay attention to implementing the memorandum of cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies, the results of the talks and working sessions; exchange experiences to improve the activities of the National Assembly delegations, as well as the Provincial People's Councils, in inspecting, supervising, and promoting the resolution of issues related to national defense and security, border security, streamlining the apparatus, building infrastructure, and resolving the difficulties of the people... Continue to coordinate with the provinces of Laos to jointly develop comprehensively in all fields, contributing to consolidating and developing the great relationship between the two Parties, two States, and the people of Vietnam and Laos.
