Nine contestants participated in the public speaking competition, delivering speeches in Thai on themes praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the homeland, conveying meaningful messages, love stories, and legends associated with the lives of the Thai ethnic people, and arousing pride and solidarity among ethnic groups.
The youngest contestant participating in the public speaking competition is from Chiềng Cơi ward.
In the ethnic script writing competition, 12 contestants participated. The contestants listened to dictation and wrote essays on the theme of preserving traditional culture. The contestants dedicated considerable time and effort to practicing, thoroughly researching the competition content, and investing in costumes, props, and performance style.
The competition includes writing in the traditional ethnic script.
This is the first time the competition has been organized by Son La city, creating a beneficial playground to encourage the younger generation to use and develop ethnic languages, contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values; at the same time, enhancing public speaking ability, critical thinking and communication skills.
The results of the competition will be announced on Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, which takes place on April 21st.
