The people of Son La province participated in the voting, expressing their strong agreement and consensus with the plan to rearrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in the area.
On April 18th and 19th, localities in Son La province simultaneously held conferences to gather public opinion on the policies and plans for rearranging and reorganizing communes and wards.
The conferences were held in each village, sub-district, and residential area within the communes, wards, and towns undergoing reorganization. A large number of people attended and exercised their rights, obligations, and responsibilities to this important event for the country and the locality.
Many localities had a 100% approval rate from voters for the proposed reorganization of commune-level administrative units, such as Phu Yen, Mai Son, and Bac Yen; the remaining localities also had a high percentage of voters in agreement.
After completing the voter consultation on April 19th, the People's Councils of communes, wards, and towns will hold sessions to pass resolutions on the reorganization of administrative units at the commune level, and submit them to the district-level People's Councils for consideration and decision.
The People's Committee at the district level shall report the results, along with the resolutions of the People's Council at the district and commune levels, to the Department of Internal Affairs no later than April 21st. The Department of Internal Affairs shall advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit the proposal to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and voting on the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province, with the dossier expected to be submitted no later than April 23rd; at the same time, it shall report and seek opinions from the Provincial Party Committee's Steering Committee 398 and the Party Committee at the same level.

The process of gathering public opinion throughout Son La province was completed on April 19th.
Son La province will finalize the dossier for the plan to rearrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in the province and submit it to the Ministry of Interior and the Government no later than April 30th.
According to the conclusions of the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee on the plan for rearranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units in the province, it is projected that 200 commune-level administrative units (177 communes, 15 wards, and 8 towns) in the province will be reorganized into 75 commune-level administrative units (67 communes and 8 wards). Of these, Son La will retain 7 communes that meet the criteria regarding area, population, and unique characteristics; 2 new communes will be formed by merging 6 units; 3 communes will be formed by merging 5 units; and 8 communes will be formed by merging 4 administrative units.
