On the evening of April 27th, at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, organized the opening of the photo exhibitions "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development for the Vietnamese Nation" and "Proud of a Border Region".
The photo exhibitions "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development for the Vietnamese Nation" and "Proud of a Border Region" will take place at three locations: Nguyen Hue Walking Street, Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi Street, and opposite Chi Lang Park from April 27th to May 5th. These are practical activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975/April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890/May 19, 2025).

Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the exhibitions "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development for the Vietnamese Nation" and "Proud of a Border Region".
Attending the opening ceremony of the Exhibition were Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Pham Tat Thang; Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, along with representatives from various agencies and departments; veterans, workers, union members, youth, and a large number of people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was a momentous historical milestone marking the successful conclusion of our nation's long and arduous resistance war against the US, ushering the country into an era of independence, unity, and development.
Fifty years after the Great Victory of Spring, Ho Chi Minh City - the city proudly bearing the name of President Ho Chi Minh - continues to develop and grow stronger, upholding the revolutionary spirit, dynamism, and creativity; constantly striving to overcome many difficulties and challenges to achieve proud accomplishments.

Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi delivered the opening speech at the Exhibition.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the exhibition contributes to providing an overview of the heroic struggle of the army and people of Southern Vietnam in the resistance war against the US, saving the country.
"This is the result of a long and arduous struggle full of sacrifices by patriotic Vietnamese people, of the great national unity under the glorious banner of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and unwavering faith in the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, along with immense international support...", Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi shared.
The artistic photographs at the exhibition are meticulously crafted, reflecting a deep commitment to the theme and creatively conveying authentic and emotionally rich images, vividly portraying the beauty of Vietnam's homeland and people.
These works also contribute to spreading examples of humble yet noble deeds, honoring the forces that are day and night firmly protecting the national borders and territorial sovereignty; highlighting the glorious 80-year tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

The exhibition displays over 200 images with the theme "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development for the Vietnamese Nation".and"Proud of a Border Region" reflects the long, arduous, and unwavering struggle of our army and people in the resistance war against the US, culminating in the heroic struggle of the army and people of the South, with the immense mobilization of human and material resources from the entire country, to carry out three key strategic blows (the Central Highlands Campaign, the Hue-Da Nang Campaign, and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign) to liberate Saigon on April 30, 1975.

The works displayed at the exhibition contribute to providing an overview of the heroic struggle of the army and people of Southern Vietnam in the resistance war against the US, for national liberation.

At the same time, the exhibition also displays outstanding and representative works from the 3rd "Proud of a Border Region" art photography competition, organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department in coordination with the Central Foreign Affairs Department; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Ministry of Public Security; the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army; the Border Guard Command; and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. The competition aims to honor and depict the life, work, activities, training, and combat of our soldiers and people who are day and night firmly protecting the borders of the Fatherland, especially in areas with large ethnic minority populations, reflecting the glorious 80-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.

At the same time, an exhibition of 70 images with the theme "The working class - The driving force in the national liberation struggle and the building of a sustainably developed country" was also held on Nguyen Du - Dong Khoi street, showcasing the strength of national unity with the working class as the vanguard force of the Vietnamese Revolution.
The exhibition highlights the image of workers, civil servants, and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City who "dare to think, dare to act" in production with a dynamic, self-reliant, and pioneering spirit in various fields, actively studying and researching science, proactively reforming administration, accessing and applying modern technology and techniques, creating new methods and models suitable to the practical characteristics of the city in production and society in the new era.

In addition, at Chi Lang Park, 55 images with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City – 50 Years of Glorious Reign" are also on display. It showcases famous architectural landmarks that have survived through many historical ups and downs. Along with structures that have had a profound impact on people's lives, these iconic economic and social landmarks have completely transformed the face of Ho Chi Minh City, turning it into a modern, dynamic metropolis of the country.
