(Chinhphu.vn) - At the invitation of President Kassym-Jormat Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, and President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus, on May 5th, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, departed from Hanoi to begin state visits to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, and to attend the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, as well as a state visit to the Republic of Belarus from May 5th to 12th, 2025.

The delegation included members of the Politburo: Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang (participating in activities with the delegation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation); Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang; Minister of Public Security, General Luong Tam Quang. Also participating in the delegation were: Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chief of the Central Party Office Le Hoai Trung; members of the Central Committee of the Party: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; Assistant to the General Secretary, Head of the General Secretary's Office To An Xo; Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan; Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Pham Thai Nhu Mai; Ambassador of Vietnam to the Republic of Belarus Nguyen Van Ngu.
The visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, to four countries this time continues to be an important highlight in the implementation of the independent, self-reliant, multilateral, diversified, proactive, and comprehensive foreign policy of deep, broad, and effective international integration as outlined in the 13th Party Congress.
This visit also marks a trip to Russia and friendly countries of the former Soviet Union, especially the Central Asian and Caucasus countries that have traditionally good relations with Vietnam, and which have supported and assisted Vietnam in its struggle to defend the Fatherland in the past and in its current national construction and defense; it is an opportunity for Vietnam to reaffirm its sincere and loyal feelings and its desire to promote long-term, effective, substantive, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
