Overflowing with pride

Northwest Square in Son La city, where emotions and pride are gathered and spread with the art program "Glory of Vietnam", bringing to the audience unique performances, praising the Party, Uncle Ho, praising the homeland, the country, Son La innovation, encouraging the revolutionary spirit, arousing patriotism, national pride, and the desire to contribute of the army and people of all ethnic groups in Son La. The art program has the participation of more than 200 artists and actors of the Provincial Music and Dance Theater, students of Son La College, and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command.

The general director of the art program, Meritorious Artist The Hung, Director of the Provincial Music and Dance Theater, shared: The theater has developed a script, consulted with the province on a program including famous art works from different periods and new, meaningful works. The program was carefully prepared, rehearsed, and the art performances were elaborately staged, so that the art touches the audience's emotions, arouses the spirit of national pride, the belief in rising up strongly, conveying the message to today's generation to always be grateful for the contributions of generations of ancestors who bravely fought and sacrificed for independence and national unification. At the same time, cherish the value of freedom and peace.

During the historic days of April, the campus of the Provincial Museum and Library, the Son La Prison National Special Relic Site welcomed a large number of people and tourists to the red address of revolutionary tradition education, to visit the photo exhibition with the theme "Song of Unification" along with the sounds of revolutionary songs celebrating the country with joy.

Mr. Pham Van Tuan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Museum and Library, happily said: The unit built the content of the photo exhibition "Song of Unification" with 80 precious images and documents related to the event of liberating the South and unifying the country; selected songs praising the Party, homeland and country to be broadcast on loudspeakers at the gate of the relic; compiled specialized scientific information, reviewed newspapers, introduced books with content about the event; increased the team of tour guides to propagate to the people and tourists about the significance, stature and great historical value of the event of liberating the South and unifying the country, reviewing the heroic past, paying tribute to the great sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers, arousing the spirit of patriotism, solidarity and determination to build Vietnam increasingly rich and prosperous.

Many agencies, units and localities organize meaningful activities to express their love for their homeland and country, celebrate the Liberation Day of the South and National Reunification, such as: Organizing art programs, sports competitions, activities to honor those who have contributed to the revolution; many schools organize extracurricular activities to educate students about traditions...

Mr. Lo Duc Ngoc, Secretary of Mai Son District Youth Union, shared: The District Youth Union organized a program to honor outstanding students who achieved the title of "Uncle Ho's Good Children at the District Level" in 2025 and the art program "The Country is Full of Joy"; the Mai Son District Youth Volleyball Tournament; organized activities to visit, encourage, and pay tribute to veterans, former youth volunteers, families of martyrs, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; organized a candle-lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the Martyrs' Cemetery, steles, monuments, martyrs' memorial houses, and historical sites of the local resistance war.

Especially impressive during the historic days of April, all the streets and roads from the city to the villages were brightly decorated with red flags with yellow stars flying; “National Flag Streets” with the words “Peace is beautiful” appeared in many agencies, schools and localities. Phu Yen district also mobilized 300 people wearing red flags with yellow stars, forming the shape of the country.

On social networking sites, red is the color when personal accounts change their profile pictures to a frame celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, posting photos with the national flag, spreading national pride and love for the homeland.

Exciting competitive spirit

April 30, 1975, is one of the brilliant milestones in the history of the Vietnamese nation, marking the complete victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country, liberate the South, unify the country, opening a period of independence, peace and development.

After 50 years of liberating the South and unifying the country, Son La, from a province with many difficulties after the war, has made remarkable progress in all areas: Economic development, people's lives are increasingly improved, national defense and security are ensured, foreign affairs activities are strengthened. Son La is determined to build a province that develops rapidly, greenly and sustainably; becoming the center for high-tech agricultural development in the Northwest region.

To celebrate the country's major holidays, the entire political system has taken drastic action, along with the efforts and proactiveness of the business community and each citizen, contributing to promoting production and business, joining hands and unanimously achieving the target of 8% growth in gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2025 as assigned by the Government, creating a premise for implementing the socio-economic development plan for the 2026-2030 period, aiming for double-digit economic growth from the 2026-2030 period.

Son La has been assigned by the Prime Minister to be the managing agency to implement the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project, the section in Son La province. The province is focusing on preparations, striving to start construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section in Son La province on May 19.

Responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister, Son La strives to mobilize the participation of Party committees, authorities at all levels, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and armed forces in propagating and implementing the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Mobilizing all resources to be determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before May 19, 2025 with 2,855 houses, of which 2,443 houses will be newly built and 412 houses will be repaired.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Linh, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen District People's Committee, said: The district directed the organization of solemn and meaningful activities, such as: Screening large-screen films about the liberation of the South provided by the Department of Cinema; organizing the art program "Non song lien mot doi"; directing communes and towns to organize practical activities suitable to local conditions. Calling on cadres, party members and people to carry out the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister, the whole district is determined to complete the elimination of 385 temporary and dilapidated houses for 385 policy households, poor households and near-poor households before April 30, 2025.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, cadres, party members and people of all ethnic groups in Son La multiply national pride, arouse patriotism, strengthen solidarity and determination to build the province to develop more and more, worthy of the great contributions and sacrifices of the previous generations, together with the whole country confidently prepare to enter the era of national development, starting with the important event - the 14th National Party Congress.
