In recent times, under the leadership of the Party and Government of Vietnam and Laos, the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in Son La and Hua Phan provinces have always promoted the tradition of special solidarity and friendship, strengthened comprehensive cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, society, national defense, security, and built and consolidated an increasingly strong political system. Son La province sent a high-ranking delegation led by the Provincial Party Secretary to visit, work and sign cooperation documents in the next phase in Hua Phan province.

The two sides regularly send delegations of provincial, sectoral and local leaders to visit, work and learn from each other's experiences; create conditions for businesses, organizations and people on both sides of the border to trade, exchange goods, cooperate in investment, production and business in each province. At the same time, actively and proactively coordinate closely to successfully organize the ceremony to announce the opening of the Long Sap - Pa Hang international border gate pair according to the Resolution of the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Laos.

Authorities at all levels and functional forces of the two provinces regularly exchange information, grasp the situation and promptly resolve arising incidents related to the two sides of the border on the basis of respecting each other's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Actively propagate, educate and mobilize the masses on both sides of the border to strictly comply with the two legal documents on the Vietnam - Laos border.

The two sides agreed to continue to effectively implement legal documents on the Vietnam-Laos border and other relevant agreements and treaties between the two countries and the two provinces. Local authorities of both sides will continue to expand and effectively promote the model of "village-village" twinning on both sides of the border, while supporting the signed villages and clusters of villages; focus on promoting cultural and sports exchanges, taking care of the health of border residents, strengthening solidarity and helping each other develop the economy.

Continue to coordinate in carrying out propaganda and dissemination of laws to officers and soldiers working on the border and people in the border area. The two sides direct the border management and protection forces to proactively and actively coordinate to exchange information, organize bilateral and unilateral patrols to firmly protect the border system, border markers, border posts and national border works.

Maintain cross-border trading and exchange activities; cooperate in managing and developing border gates. Effectively implement the contents of the minutes of the annual border meetings at the Government and provincial levels; other relevant agreements and agreements between the two countries and the two provinces.
