(sonla.gov.vn) On the afternoon of December 15, 2023, at Regiment 754, the Provincial Military Command held a closing ceremony for the 9-month Vietnamese language training course for 120 officers and soldiers of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in 2023.

After 9 months of study, 120 students who are officers and soldiers of the Lao People's Democratic Republic's armed forces were equipped with the following skills: Listening, speaking, reading, writing, and improving communication in Vietnamese; reading and understanding some military terms. In addition to the regular study time, students also went to practice at some historical sites and scenic spots such as: Son La Prison; Northwest Square of the city; Vietnam - Laos revolutionary historical site in Lao Kho village, Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district; Historical relic of the 52nd Tay Tien Regiment; Historical relic of Moc Ly Fort, Moc Chau district...

During the course, students are provided with health check-ups and treatment according to the prescribed regime; participate in cultural and sports exchange activities with a number of schools in the city. 100% of students can use Vietnamese for normal communication; have the necessary Vietnamese capital to acquire knowledge and serve professionally in the field of work they are responsible for. As a result, 100% of students are able to take the Vietnamese proficiency test and receive certificates.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, comrade Trang Thi Xuan praised and appreciated the efforts of the Departments and branches, especially the Provincial Military Command and Son La College, directly the 754th Regiment and the International Faculty of Son La College, who overcame difficulties, proactively developed content, programs, ensured facilities and other conditions to serve the organization of classes. At the same time, she requested the Departments, branches and related units to summarize, draw lessons, promote the achieved results, overcome limitations to organize classes with higher efficiency when the competent authority assigns tasks. Immediately after the closing ceremony, the related units arranged forces and means to organize the handover of students to the country, ensuring absolute safety for people and vehicles.

In recognition of the achievements on this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 collectives and 12 individuals of the Lao PDR with many achievements in coordination and study work and many contributions to consolidating and strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between Son La province and 9 provinces of the Lao PDR; Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 4 individuals of Son La province with achievements in recruiting and training Vietnamese for officers and soldiers of the armed forces of 9 provinces of the Lao PDR. The Provincial Military Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 32 individuals with achievements in management, teaching, service and study and training of the Vietnamese language training class for officers and soldiers of the armed forces of the Lao PDR in 2023.
