Bo Am Hot Spring is located in Phu Mau village, Chieng Yen commune, Van Ho district, Son La province, about 150km from Hanoi. The pristine natural scenery of the hot spring, along with affordable costs, makes it an ideal location for families to relax and rejuvenate.

The Bo Am (or Mo Am) hot spring is located in Phu Mau village, Chieng Yen commune, Van Ho district, Son La province, about 150km from Hanoi. This is a natural hot spring area with a temperature of about 35-40 degrees Celsius, developed for tourism by a local cooperative.

For just 30,000 VND, visitors can enjoy unlimited hot spring baths throughout the day. The pristine, tranquil natural scenery and the clean mineral springs make this a favorite tourist destination for locals, yet it remains relatively unknown to visitors from afar.

The mineral spring flows directly from the crevice and is divided into three layers. The top layer has the highest temperature, which is warm. The temperature gradually decreases in the following layers. The bottom layer is cool, not too cold, making it suitable for bathing and swimming.

Bo Am Hot Spring boasts beautiful scenery, with a cliff and lush green bamboo forest on one side and picturesque rice fields on the other. Besides enjoying the mineral baths, visitors can also freely take stunning photos with the "fairytale" background.

The mineral spring has a crystal-clear, warm, and pleasant temperature. Soaking in the water and admiring the pristine scenery will relieve fatigue and leave your body feeling refreshed.

Besides bathing in the hot springs, visitors can take photos and admire the lush green rice fields right next to them.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (born in 1990, from Bac Giang province) said, "My family of five from Bac Giang came to Moc Chau for a vacation this time. During the trip, we chose to visit the Bo Am hot springs to sightsee and soak in the water. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey to Moc Chau for sightseeing and relaxation."

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (born in 1980, residing in Hanoi) said that he brought his parents and family to the Bo Am hot spring resort for a relaxing vacation. “Bo Am hot spring is a wonderful resort destination. The natural scenery, fresh climate, and clean hot spring water have many health benefits, costing only 30,000 VND per person. Food and drinks are also very convenient, making it suitable for therapeutic tourism,” Mr. Nam said.

Mr. Ha Van Khuong, a member of the Tat Nang Tourism and Agriculture Cooperative, which operates the Bo Am stream, said that cooperative members take turns on duty, selling tickets, and resolving issues for tourists. The Bo Am stream has been in operation since 2019 but was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, reopening in 2022. Several geological teams from the central government surveyed, measured, and tested the water quality, concluding that the pH level is moderate and not high in sulfur. In winter, the colder the weather, the warmer the water becomes, so tourists come to soak and relax.

On May 7th, the leaders of Chiềng Yên commune, Vân Hồ district, Sơn La province, stated that the Bò Ấm stream is currently being exploited and operated by the Tạt Nàng Tourism and Agriculture Cooperative. However, it has not yet yielded high efficiency due to its small scale and lack of basic investment. "Currently, the Vân Hồ district People's Committee is calling on businesses to survey and invest in developing the Bò Ấm stream into a well-planned resort," the commune leader said.

Besides the mineral bath service, visitors can order a meal prepared by the locals with many delicious specialties such as sticky rice, grilled chicken, and wild vegetables. A few hundred meters away is a homestay run by the locals. However, the facilities at Bo Am Stream are still quite rudimentary, with not many services available.
