From May 16-19, at the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Arts Center, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the "Village of Lotus Songs" festival to commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
The People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded certificates of merit to the delegations that achieved high results at the festival.
The festival brought together nearly 1,000 amateur performers from 30 art troupes representing provinces and cities nationwide. The participating performances were diverse in genre, elaborately staged, and expressed profound affection for President Ho Chi Minh.
The Son La Provincial Folk Art Troupe participated in the festival with 25 actors and propagandists from the Provincial Cultural and Film Center. With the theme "Son La Welcomes Uncle Ho," the artistic program included five special performances: "Mountains and Forests Grateful to the Party and Uncle Ho"; "The Mong People Remember Uncle Ho"; "Thuan Chau, Where Uncle Ho Visited"; "The Immortal Playing the Flute"; and a medley of songs and dances: "Son La Welcomes Uncle Ho" - "Respectfully Addressing Uncle Ho." These performances vividly recreated the image of the beloved Uncle Ho in the hearts of the people of Son La province, while also vividly portraying the cultural identity of the Northwest region.
The song and dance performance "Son La Welcomes Uncle Ho - Addressing Uncle Ho" by the Son La delegation won the Silver Medal.
The performance "The Hmong People Remember Uncle Ho" by the Son La delegation won the Silver Medal.
As a result, the Son La delegation was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the People's Committee of Nghe An province; a certificate of merit from the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library for one individual; and one Gold Medal and three Silver Medals for the participating performances.
