Over the past 10 years, especially in the last 2-3 years, the relationship between Vietnam and countries in the Middle East - Africa region has been promoted quite strongly. In particular, with the visit and working visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to a number of countries in the region in 2024, the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the Middle East - Africa region has reached many important milestones, marking a new stage of development in the relationship between Vietnam and regional partners. The most active high-level delegation exchanges between Vietnam and countries in the Middle East - Africa region in recent years have contributed significantly to tightening good political relations, consolidating personal relations between Vietnamese leaders and leaders of regional countries, and opening up great cooperation opportunities between the two sides.
In Son La province, the export of Son La products to the Middle East - Africa market is only in the form of offering and introducing products; there is no direct investment activity from investors from the Middle East - Africa region. In 2018, the province cooperated with GreenPath Vietnam Import-Export and Trading Joint Stock Company to export 8 tons of mango to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market; coordinated with a number of domestic import-export companies to introduce products (mango, plum, longan, tea...) to the Middle East market.
In 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has identified a number of specific groups of solutions to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in all areas with countries in the Middle East - Africa region. That is, continuing to concretize agreements and commitments during high-level visits, creating new momentum for economic, trade and investment cooperation, contributing to strengthening relations between Vietnam and countries in the Middle East - Africa.
