On May 22nd, a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in Vietnam, including Mr. Frantz Verella, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti, and Mr. Darlier Dorval, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti, paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Son La province.

Receiving the delegation, Son La province was represented by Ms. Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.
On behalf of the leaders of Son La province, Ms. Trang Thi Xuan warmly welcomed the Prime Minister's Advisor and representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti to visit and work in Son La. She also provided an overview of some outstanding achievements in politics, socio-economics, national defense, and security of the province; the potential advantages of Son La, especially in the development of coffee and dairy farming; high-tech agriculture; and the processing technology of tea, coffee, and fruit products. Furthermore, she expressed the hope that the delegation from the Republic of Haiti would research and develop cooperation and investment programs for sustainable development between units and localities of the two countries in the future.

The Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti thanked Son La province for the thoughtful and respectful reception and expressed his admiration for Son La's achievements in agriculture, especially its specialty coffee production model. He also expressed his hope for increased exchanges and cooperation between businesses of both sides in the future, particularly in agriculture, processing, and trade of agricultural products.
During their visit to Son La province, the delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Haiti will visit and conduct a field survey of the coffee growing area and coffee processing plant of the Bich Thao Son La Coffee Cooperative in Son La city.
