(PLVN) - The award is organized with the aim of mobilizing the participation of the people in the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends in creating photos, videos or having creative ideas, telling good stories, meaningful discoveries on the topic of happy Vietnam. Thereby, contributing to spreading positive images of the country, Vietnamese people, the precious cultural and historical traditions of the nation or the achievements of the country's socio-economic development to the public at home and abroad, contributing to enhancing the prestige and position of the country in the international arena.
Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh spoke at the launching ceremony.
On the morning of May 22, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Vietnam Television, organized the launching ceremony of the annual media award on human rights called Happy Vietnam 2025.
Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh; President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists Tran Thi Thu Dong; Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Duc Hoang chaired the launching ceremony.
This is an activity to implement Decision No. 1079/QD-TTg dated September 14, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Project on communication on human rights in Vietnam and to celebrate the country's major holidays in 2025.
Speaking at the event, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said that many people and international friends he met said that Vietnam has something that many other nations are longing for but do not have: peace, independence and a peaceful life.
"This award makes everyone realize once again that they are happy, even though they don't know it yet," said Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh.
According to the Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Award will bring positive energy to all participants.
“We gather every moment, every beautiful minute in the life of each person, including international friends... When we organize this Award, it is an encouragement and gathering of all into a common aspiration, because if we are happy like this, we will continue to be happier”, Mr. Le Hai Binh emphasized; affirming that the Award is an encouragement for a common aspiration for happiness.
According to the Organizing Committee, in 2025, Vietnam will make great strides in the happiness index, rising to 46th place in the world, up 8 places compared to 2024 and 19 places compared to 2023. This is an important milestone, demonstrating the world's recognition and appreciation of Vietnam's policies and achievements in ensuring human rights in recent years.
In that spirit, the Award is organized with the aim of mobilizing the participation of the people in the country, overseas Vietnamese and international friends in creating photos, videos or having creative ideas, telling good stories, meaningful discoveries on the topic of happy Vietnam.
Thereby, contributing to spreading positive images of the country, Vietnamese people, the nation's precious cultural and historical traditions or the country's socio-economic development achievements to a wide audience at home and abroad, contributing to enhancing the country's prestige and position in the international arena.
Through the Award, the Organizing Committee wants to convey the message that Vietnam is moving rapidly and developing strongly and comprehensively in all fields, including breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; international integration in the new situation; innovation in law-making and enforcement; rapid, sustainable, effective and high-quality private economic development.
The clearest evidence of the country's achievements in innovation and development and the people's happiness are the authentic, vivid stories in pictures and videos about the above topics created and submitted by the people themselves.
Authors, whether professional or amateur, Vietnamese or foreign, from 15 years of age and older can participate in the Award. The entries will be carefully selected by the Organizing Committee according to specific and clear criteria, stipulated in the Award Rules and judged fairly and objectively by leading experts, journalists, prestigious photographers and filmmakers in 02 Judging Panels: Preliminary Judging Panel and Final Judging Panel.
