Day On March 25th, a delegation from the Department of Justice of Hua Phan Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, visited Son La Province to exchange and learn from its experience in judicial work and civil enforcement. The delegation was received and worked with by leaders of the Department of Justice and the Civil Enforcement Department of Son La Province.
In an atmosphere of profound solidarity, special friendship, comprehensive cooperation, mutual understanding, and trust, leaders of units from the two provinces exchanged views on the functions, tasks, organizational structure, and personnel of the Department of Justice and the Civil Enforcement Department. They also shared experiences on the drafting of legal documents, regulations and forms of legal dissemination and education, and notarization activities in the field of justice.
The Son La Provincial Enforcement Department, in coordination with the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, the Border Guard Command, and the Son La Provincial Police, has exchanged information and worked with relevant Lao authorities to notify the relatives and families of Lao nationals who committed crimes on Vietnamese territory and were tried and ordered by Vietnamese People's Courts to return property to their relatives and families residing in Hua Phan province. Currently, the Son La Provincial Enforcement Department is enforcing 9 cases, corresponding to an amount exceeding 145 million VND; 4 cases have been completed, and 5 cases remain to be enforced.
Discussing future cooperation, leaders of the two provinces exchanged views on continuing to implement the agreements between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries and between the Departments of Justice of the two provinces. The Department of Justice of Hua Phan province requested the Department of Justice of Son La province to support human resource training, short-term and long-term training to develop the team of judicial officials. They also requested support in terms of facilities and equipment for the office and continued facilitation of visits by district-level justice departments of Hua Phan province to learn from Son La province's experience in judicial matters and civil enforcement. Furthermore, they requested strengthening the dissemination of information and education to officials, civil servants, and people of all ethnic groups in each province regarding the tradition of special solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, and cooperation between Hua Phan and Son La provinces in particular.
