On August 14th, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, inspected and surveyed the construction site of the Inter-level Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Phieng Khoai commune, Son La province. Accompanying him were Ms. Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders from several provincial departments and agencies.
In accordance with the Politburo's Conclusion Notice No. 81 on the policy of building schools in border communes, Phiêng Khoài commune has completed the survey and selected a location for the construction of the project at the current Phiêng Khoài Secondary School. The project covers an area of 4.9 hectares, with a total investment of approximately 150 billion VND, meeting the learning and living needs of about 1,000 students.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for August 19th, marking the first of 13 multi-level boarding schools to be invested in Son La. To date, the local authorities have prepared the site; conducted an inventory and assessment of the current state of assets at Phieng Khoai Secondary School to proceed with liquidation and site clearance for the project; and arranged for the transfer of all teaching activities of Phieng Khoai Secondary School for the 2025-2026 school year to the Tam Thanh branch of Kim Chung Primary School, temporarily suspending the provision of meals for boarding students.
Working with Phiêng Khoài commune, Comrade Nguyễn Đình Việt requested the commune to closely coordinate with relevant departments and agencies, meticulously prepare the conditions to ensure a solemn and economical groundbreaking ceremony; regularly report to the Provincial People's Committee on the progress and any difficulties encountered during the implementation; ensure the smooth organization of teaching and learning activities for students at Phiêng Khoài Secondary School during the construction period; and intensify propaganda efforts regarding the investment plan for the project, creating high consensus among the people, parents, and students.
