The People's Committee of Son La province has just signed Decision No. 1868/QD-UBND approving the investment plan for the Son La City Cemetery Park project, with a proposed construction scale of 1,645,598 m2.

According to Decision No. 1868/QD-UBND, the project area is located in Phuong, Na Ngan, and Ka Lap villages, Chieng Ngan commune, Son La city. The specific boundaries are as follows: To the North, it borders the paved road leading to the Nam Pan 5 hydropower plant; to the South, it borders the rocky mountains of Ka Lap village; to the East, it borders the land of Phuong and Na Ngan villages, Chieng Ngan commune, and Luong Mat village, Muong Bang commune, Mai Son district; to the West, it borders the rocky mountains, land of Phuong, Na Ngan, and Ka Lap villages.
The project aims to build a cemetery park that meets the burial, cemetery service, and cremation service needs of the people in the area and surrounding regions for a minimum of 50-70 years. Completing the technical infrastructure and environmental criteria will help Son La city improve its urban status to a type II city, aiming towards type I urban status and achieving green, rapid, and sustainable development.
The People's Committee of Son La province has assigned the People's Committee of Son La city to carry out the procedures for inviting and selecting investors to implement the project in accordance with regulations. They are to proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to carry out the work as prescribed. They are also to preside over the review of all data on the current land status and the estimated costs of compensation, land clearance, and the number of affected households requiring resettlement before organizing the selection of investors.
Organize and implement land compensation and resettlement support in accordance with regulations. Guide investors to fulfill their financial obligations as required. Ensure the resettlement process is carried out to stabilize the lives of residents before project implementation, in accordance with regulations, in order to facilitate land clearance for the project.
The Department of Planning and Investment is tasked with publishing the project on the national bidding network to organize the selection of investors to implement the project, ensuring compliance with current laws and regulations on investment, bidding, land, construction, and other relevant laws.
For the Departments of Planning and Investment, Construction, Finance, Natural Resources and Environment, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Provincial Tax Department, in coordination with relevant units, they shall determine preliminary requirements regarding capacity and experience and provide preliminary assessments of the capacity and experience of investors who have submitted applications to implement projects on the national online bidding system.
Actively coordinate with relevant agencies and units during the implementation of project procedures for contents within the scope of industry and local management, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
During the implementation process in the subsequent stages, agencies and units, according to their functions and professional duties, if they discover any content that does not comply with legal regulations, must immediately report it to the competent authority for timely adjustment to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with the law.
