(vov.vn) - Since the beginning of February this year, Son La has added new towns and townships, marking a turning point in the transformation and development of this potential mountain town in the Northwest highlands.
In the first two months of the year, Moc Chau town welcomed over 1 million visitors, generating over 1.3 trillion VND in social revenue. Moc Chau has consistently "scored points" on the Vietnamese and global tourism map thanks to its captivating natural scenery; along with the responsible and thoughtful behavior of homestay and restaurant owners, as well as local residents who voluntarily gave up their rooms for guests during peak periods.

Moc Chau town scores points with its impressive and unique natural scenery.
This is good news for a young town, presenting both opportunities and challenges for the tourism industry in Moc Chau to develop in line with its potential.
Mr. Hoang Manh Duy, Deputy Director of Moc Chau Island Tourist Area, shared: "This is a great opportunity for the tourism service industry to develop. The synchronized investment in infrastructure will be a crucial factor in promoting connections with tourists from all over the country to the Moc Chau plateau. From roads to the quality of services at tourist facilities and attractions, everything will be improved."

The plum blossom season, the most beautiful in many years, has attracted a large number of visitors to Moc Chau this time of year.
Not only in urban centers, but also in remote areas and border regions like Moc Chau, life, work, and education have undergone many changes. For example, at the foot of the majestic Pha Luong mountain range, bordering Laos, where life is still difficult, encouraging children to attend school used to be a challenging task...
Now, the learning space for teachers and students at Pha Luong school, Chieng Son Primary School, Chieng Son commune, is becoming increasingly modern and well-equipped; each staff member and teacher is also striving to improve themselves, gradually narrowing the educational gap between urban areas and disadvantaged regions.

The learning conditions for both teachers and students at Pha Luong branch school, Chieng Son Primary School, Moc Chau town, are constantly improving.
Teacher Bui Thi Thuong, from Pha Luong branch of Chieng Son Primary School, Chieng Son commune, shared: "The facilities have improved significantly. Now we have televisions and computers for teaching, allowing the children to see vivid and engaging images, which helps them learn better. We also proactively improve our knowledge, learn, and enhance our expertise, especially in information technology, to better educate the children."
According to a resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee effective from February 1st, Moc Chau town was established based on the entire natural area and population of Moc Chau district, comprising 8 wards and 7 communes.
The transformation of the administrative model from rural to urban, involving the splitting and merging of many commune-level administrative units into wards and communes, required Moc Chau to concentrate resources on a large volume of work. However, Moc Chau quickly stabilized operations at all levels and continued to leverage its advantages to transform and develop.

Tourist areas and attractions in Moc Chau town are investing in infrastructure and human resources to serve tourists.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Moc Chau town, affirmed: "We recognize this as a great opportunity for Moc Chau to develop in the coming period; the responsibility is also higher in preserving, maintaining, and promoting the current values that Moc Chau possesses. We also hope that in the future, Moc Chau will have more major driving forces to create momentum for economic and social development, with a focus on tourism development."
Along with Moc Chau town, new towns have also been formed, marking a turning point in the journey of building potential economic and cultural centers in the mountainous region of Son La. Specifically, 16 commune-level administrative units belonging to 5 districts of Son La province – Phu Yen, Thuan Chau, Yen Chau, Song Ma, and Quynh Nhai – have been reorganized to facilitate the establishment and expansion of these towns.
Regarding the relocation of her family's grocery store from Na Phai 1 village, Huy Bac commune to Na Phai 1 sub-district, Quang Huy town, Phu Yen district, Son La province, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh happily said: "This is an honor for us citizens. Business is also going well; seeing the goods and customers coming and going is very joyful..."

The newly established town has added beauty to the landscape of Phu Yen district, Son La province.
Formed by the merger of three administrative units – Quang Huy commune, Huy Bac commune, and Phu Yen town – Quang Huy town, with 25 sub-districts and over 21,000 inhabitants, officially became a major urban center of Phu Yen district, Son La province. Immediately after stabilizing its organizational structure, the Party committee and government of Quang Huy town promptly began carrying out local tasks.
Mr. Bac Cam Doan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Huy town, Phu Yen district, Son La province, said: "We will continue to implement socio-economic development plans, aiming towards the Party Congress at all levels; leveraging our potential and advantages, and soon transforming the town into a civilized urban area."
After the reorganization, Son La province has 12 district-level administrative units, including 10 districts, 1 town, and 1 city; 200 commune-level administrative units, with 177 communes, 15 wards, and 8 townships; only 2 districts still lack townships: Sop Cop district and Van Ho district.
The effective implementation of the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, in parallel with the Central and provincial policies on restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus and political system... is an important foundation for Son La to successfully carry out the political tasks set forth and to prepare all conditions well for entering a new stage of development.
