Ms. Cam Thi Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: Closely following the socio-economic development plan of the province, every year, the department has established a grassroots council to determine scientific and technological tasks to order in the field of agriculture and rural areas, selecting topics and projects with high feasibility, implementation content close to production and life requirements, with novelty, creativity and scientific nature; the products created have the ability to be applied in practice, with specific addresses and application areas.
At the same time, the province prioritizes supporting enterprises and cooperatives in researching, applying technology transfer, high technology in agricultural production and building product brands; building agricultural, forestry and fishery production models according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP; organic agricultural production, creating high-quality agricultural products to serve the domestic market and export.

In the period of 2021-2024, based on proposals from districts, cities, research institutes, and universities, the Emulation Council at the grassroots level proposed to order 59 scientific and technological tasks. Currently, the application of high technology and biotechnology in the field of agriculture and rural development in the province has achieved important achievements, such as: Application of gene technology, invitro technology; microbiological technology, in selecting and breeding plants, livestock and aquatic products to serve well the needs of restructuring crops, livestock and aquatic products in the province.
In the field of cultivation, the whole province currently has nearly 3,210 hectares using drip irrigation and misting systems for fruit trees, industrial crops, and vegetables. More than 115 hectares of net houses, greenhouses, and membrane houses grow fruit trees and vegetables; nearly 265 hectares are certified for organic production; 5,596 hectares are granted VietGap certification. The whole province has 8 high-tech agricultural areas, including 2 coffee areas; 2 mango areas; 1 longan area; 1 custard-apple area; 1 tea area; 1 dairy cow area in Moc Chau town, Mai Son and Yen Chau districts.

As a leading locality in applying high technology in agricultural production in the province, Moc Chau town has 486 establishments applying water-saving irrigation for more than 613 hectares of crops; 141 establishments investing in building greenhouses and net houses with an area of more than 100 hectares; 35 establishments applying VietGAP agricultural production practices in the field of cultivation with a total area of 1,125 hectares, focusing mainly on vegetables, tea and fruit trees...

Mr. Nguyen Sy Quang, Deputy General Director of Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding Joint Stock Company, informed: The company invested in and upgraded 11 dairy product processing lines at 2 processing plants, with an average capacity of 250 tons of fresh milk/day and over 40 manure separator machines for production. Using sex-segregated semen to develop the herd, using Alfalfa grass, the concentrated feed processing plant has a capacity of 12 tons/hour, the TMR feed plant has 120 tons/day to meet the needs of the herd. There are 3 breeding centers with nearly 2,000 animals performing the task of selective breeding to create a high-yielding nucleus herd, ensuring the supply of high-quality breeding animals to farming households.
