(vov.vn) - Not only does Moc Chau (Son La) attract tourists with its majestic natural landscapes and fresh air, but it is also home to many special cultural and historical relics, from archaeological sites to historical and cultural works of ethnic minorities.
The 52nd Tay Tien Regiment Memorial Site is one of the most significant and meaningful historical sites on the Moc Chau plateau. Designed based on the poem "Tay Tien" by poet Quang Dung (a soldier of the Regiment), the complex covers an area of 5,000 square meters and comprises seven components, including a traditional house, five bas-reliefs, a memorial monument, a plaque commemorating the Tay Tien soldiers, a remembrance area, and a memorial observatory.
The historical site is a "red address" for educating about revolutionary traditions, a place where the public and tourists can learn about the glorious victories of our army and people in the resistance war against the French.

The historical site commemorating the 52nd Tay Tien Regiment is one of the most special and meaningful historical sites.
on the Moc Chau plateau.
Mr. Dinh Hong Phuc, Head of the Management Board of the 52nd Tay Tien Regiment Memorial Site, said that the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere of the site further highlights its profound historical values, while also evoking a sense of serenity and inspiring patriotism and national pride.
"The historical site is designed based on the idea of the poem 'Tay Tien' by poet Quang Dung. Therefore, each line of the poem will be brought to life by an image, and perhaps that will make visitors, instead of the seemingly rigid term 'historical site,' feel the poetic essence, allowing them to experience the verses and relive the poem they once studied," said Mr. Dinh Hong Phuc.
Recognizing that sustainable tourism development is inseparable from the preservation of cultural and historical values, over the years, Moc Chau town, Son La province, has focused its resources on restoring, preserving, and promoting the value of all 14 cultural and historical relics, including 3 national-level relics and 11 provincial-level relics. The town has also implemented the digitization of historical relics by deploying QR codes on 5 sites, meeting the need for information retrieval about historical sites in the area.

Moc Chau town (Son La province) is striving to develop unique and high-quality tourism products.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Moc Chau Town, national-level historical sites have established management boards and are effectively exploiting their value to serve tourism development, becoming destinations for many tourists. These sites are included in tour itineraries and itineraries by travel companies when visiting Moc Chau, such as: Bat Cave, the historical site commemorating the 52nd Tay Tien Regiment, and the Moc Ly Fort historical site... Each year, these sites welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors, generating billions of dong in revenue.
"In connecting tourist attractions and historical sites, and connecting tourists to historical sites in the area, the first factor needed is the synchronized investment in these sites, ensuring they are both historical sites and tourism products, guaranteeing the right space, explanations, and other supporting elements so that tourists feel a real sense of value," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa.

By preserving and promoting the values of historical sites in conjunction with tourism development, Moc Chau not only retains its distinctive cultural identity.
but it also opens up new opportunities for the future.
Despite numerous challenges, preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in conjunction with tourism development is a promising and necessary direction for Moc Chau. Cultural experience tourism programs have been attracting tourists, especially those who want to learn about the cultural identity of ethnic minorities.
Local authorities, in coordination with tourism businesses and the community, have been striving to develop unique, high-quality tourism products that both cater to the entertainment needs of tourists and contribute to the preservation of valuable cultural values.

Historical sites also serve as "red addresses" for educating about revolutionary traditions.
According to Dr. Tong Thanh Binh (Northwest University), to effectively preserve and promote the value of historical and cultural relics associated with tourism development, in addition to paying attention to planning and investing in tourism infrastructure and services, it is necessary to focus on the content of the destinations. This should be done through specific research to clarify the historical and cultural values of each destination, thereby creating narratives that allow tourists to understand the value and historical traditions of this land.
Dr. Tong Thanh Binh suggested: "After gathering these stories, we should focus on communication and training tour guides so they understand the culture and history of this region, while also utilizing various communication channels to promote it to tourists. I believe this is not only the responsibility of those working in tourism and researchers, but also of all local people who need to equip themselves with knowledge and understanding of local history and culture to spread the positive values of the destination from the community."
Moc Chau is not only a dreamy plateau with stunning landscapes but also a land preserving precious historical and cultural heritage. By preserving and promoting the values of historical sites in conjunction with tourism development, Moc Chau not only maintains its unique cultural identity but also opens up new opportunities for the future. This journey will bring sustainable values, contributing to elevating Moc Chau's position on the map of Vietnamese cultural tourism.
