Continuing the "Back to the Roots" program commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) according to the plan of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, on March 25, the delegation from Son La province visited the Vietnam Military History Museum. The delegation included Comrade Vi Duc Tho, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province; former leaders of the National Assembly delegation, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province from previous terms; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and its committees of the 15th term; representatives of leaders from provincial departments, agencies, the Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations; and the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of the districts of the province.
Delegates participating in the program were introduced by guides to the history and development of the Vietnam Military History Museum - one of the typical cultural works of the capital city. The group toured the exhibition areas associated with each stage of the nation's struggle, which houses many valuable artifacts and documents. The outdoor exhibition area showcases the weapons and equipment of our army and people during the resistance against the French and Americans, as well as in peacetime. Inside the main building are thematic exhibitions on the journey of nation-building and national defense from the beginning of history.
With thousands of artifacts and images, delegates experienced vivid stories of Vietnam's military history. Currently, the museum houses over 150,000 artifacts, including 4 national treasures and many rare antiques. Built with modern architecture, the museum is not only a place for display but also an interactive space, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the struggle for independence of the Vietnam People's Army.
