(sonla.gov.vn) On the afternoon of January 17th, the People's Committee of Son La province organized a tourism seminar with the theme: "Green and Sustainable Tourism - a Driving Force for the Development of Moc Chau National Tourist Area". Attending the seminar were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of various departments and agencies, the Tourism Association; People's Committees of communes and wards; and tourism businesses in the province.

On January 14th, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to summarize the work of urging and implementing commitments and agreements in high-level foreign affairs activities during the 2021-2025 term.
After more than 5 years of crop conversion in Muong Khieng commune, Son La province, cinnamon trees have grown and developed well, adapting to the local climate and soil, and have begun to yield harvests. Based on this initial success, Muong Khieng commune continues to review, promote, and encourage people to expand the cinnamon planting area to approximately 15 hectares. Since the 1960s, people from Thai Binh province have been reclaiming land in Binh Thuan commune (formerly Phong Lai and Chieng Pha communes), Son La province, and introducing tea cultivation to develop the local economy. To date, the commune has nearly 1,000 hectares of tea, mainly Kim Tuyen and Shan Tuyet varieties, concentrated in the villages of Kien Xuong, Noong Lao, Quynh Chau, Quynh Tien Hung, and Muong Chien. Tea cultivation has created stable jobs for many laborers and contributed to poverty reduction and socio-economic development in the locality. Muong Khieng commune has a natural area of over 20,170 hectares and a population of over 23,700 people. Taking advantage of the water surface area of the Son La hydroelectric reservoir, the people in the commune have invested in commercial cage fish farming, increasing their income.
In 2025, the "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement in Son La province received attention and was implemented synchronously by Party committees, government agencies, and the entire political system, achieving many remarkable results.
TPO - The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Son La, Lo Minh Hung, requested that departments, agencies, and localities focus intensely on accelerating the progress of land clearance and completing the restoration and exhibition items to effectively promote the historical value of the Co Noi Crossroads National Historical Site.
Currently, Son La province has abundant human resources with approximately 805,000 people of working age, accounting for 57.5% of the population, of which 771,000 are capable of working. The rate of trained workers reaches 63%, and 28% of workers hold degrees or certificates. For the period 2025-2030, Son La province aims to "strive to send 5,000 workers abroad under contract, with 100% of communes and wards having workers employed overseas," a goal being actively implemented by various sectors and localities.

The Sơn La hydroelectric reservoir is a serene, emerald green, attracting tourists who want to experience the unique atmosphere when the hydroelectric plant operates by releasing water from the reservoir to regulate its flow.
Son La (Vietnam) and Hua Phan (Laos) are two provinces with a border stretching over 240 km. The terrain is complex, mainly consisting of high mountains and hills, heavily fragmented, and transportation is difficult. They also have large areas of forest and forestry land, and the border region is far from populated areas. Therefore, coordination in protecting forests in the border area is a top priority for both provinces.
